We left the blue mountain hotel (the Wicked depot in Austria) after our friends dropped us off there, and drove straight to Banjole in croatia- south of the big town Pula.
The drive down to there took about 3 hours or so and I was impressed that we hadn\’t used too much fuel! We forgot to stock up on Gas in austria so finding gas in Croatia was a little hard, with the language and because some of the shops aren\’t so well stocked.
The drive took us through Slovenija for which we had to pay a road toll, we had to pay about 60 euros for a 6 month pass, though I do believe they now do a week/ day pass also which is a lot cheaper!! The roads down were very good, there is a lot of building going on on the highways and all the main roads down there were only i\’d say 2 years old if that!! Much better than UK roads!! 
Though in some of the main towns the roads are a little hectic to drive about in and the road signs can be somewhat confusing…. one minute a place is signposted, then at the next junction you have to make a guess!! Always puts a bit of fun into navigating with your better half!
We had heard of several camp sites right on the water front and so once we had arrived we walked round a few different spots until we found a good site at a reasonable rate (camp Indije). It also had a dive school on site - sadly we both hadn\’t brought our dive cards or kit with us. But the diving there is said to be very good!! (Mostly wrecks) We did however do some snorkeling which was also really good. The water down there is so so clear and blue… though a little chilly when we were there!!
We were lucky enough to get a spot directly on the water front and from here we saw our first amazing sun set (pic included, also one from the water, you can see the van sitting there) The camp sites were all clean and the showers and toilets were all ok where ever we were.
We had taken two mountain bike with us and made a tour from Banjole to just outside the town of Premantura - to a big natinol park area, very beautiful and a lot of sun. They have made several cycle tracks that keep you off the main roads and take you through some beautiful country side. Once in the national park (free for bikes but cars must pay + NO CAMPING) you can decide to make a tour round all the little bays and stop when and where you like for a refreshing dip. Very good day out with some little technical mountain biking spots along the way, though nothing so hard it\’s impassable.
Another day we were able to rent a boat for the whole day for not a lot of euros (they do except Euros there we had to divide everything by 7 to get a rough price) and go off around the little islands on our own. I have grown up driving boats so was no problem to explore a little further and find a number of private bays to anchor off in and go snorkling or make a picnic.
In the evening we went for an amazing meal in a little restaurant we found in Premantura. They have places where you can visit a local family in their home and try their local dishes, they are called a \’Conoba\’ with a very cosy welcoming atmosphere and really great food at good prices. Premantura is also a place we would recommand also to stay and explore, with plenty of restaurants and a friendly atmosphere.
